Reiterhof Harms is a family-run riding farm on the North Sea island of Norderney, established as a working farm in 1929 and turned to tourism in the 1970s. It keeps spacious stabling and offers guest boxes, so visitors can bring their own horse to the island. Guided rides lead through the dunes and the coastal landscape around the lighthouse. The same family also runs the adjoining Tünnbak campground on the site. Both the equestrian operation and the campground are managed directly by the Harms family.

Gestüt Leineblick

Gestüt Leineblick is a Hanoverian breeding operation run by the Asche family at Luttmersen near Neustadt am Rübenberge, north-west of Hannover. Breeding centres on a band of broodmares with strong jumping bloodlines, and homebred horses have been placed in young show-jumper classes and awarded the Hanoverian premium. The farm raises foals, young horses and colts through to riding age on its own pastures. Youngstock from outside owners is taken in for rearing, and livery places are offered. Each year's foals and the current broodmare band are documented on the stud's website.

Pferdezucht Peter Mahler is a Hanoverian breeding operation run by the Mahler family at Neuhaus in Lower Saxony. The stud keeps a band of state-premium broodmares and has bred licensed stallions and successful Verden auction horses. Alongside its own breeding it raises foals and youngstock for other breeders, with group housing over winter and large marsh pastures from late April to early November, and it also takes horses in for summer grazing. Daughter Kerstin Mahler, trained at the Hanoverian Verband in Verden, handles backing and schooling and presents horses at mare shows, mare performance tests, auctions and stallion licensings.

Isländerhof Rutenmühle is a family-run Icelandic-horse farm in the Lüneburg Heath at Neuenkirchen, operated by Johann and Juliane Kath. Horses are kept as one herd across more than 2,500 square metres of separated functional areas on the HIT Aktivstall system, so they move continuously between resting, feeding and watering zones. Automatic concentrate and roughage stations dispense small, individually configured rations around the clock, and adjoining pasture is available in season. The yard takes on the full daily care of the horses so that owners can spend their time riding and handling rather than mucking out.
